Purpose
This Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) explains what you may not do with Bitcall. It applies to everyone who uses our services: individuals, businesses, API users and the customers of our resellers. It is part of our Terms of Service. A route, number or feature working doesn’t mean every use of it is allowed.
Prohibited activities
You must not:
Break the law: Send or help send any communication that breaks local, national or international law.
Spam and unwanted calls: Make robocalls, mass unsolicited calls or messages, or marketing without the recipients’ consent. Follow consent, opt-out and do-not-call rules, and don’t use abusive auto-dialling patterns.
Fraud and impersonation: Run scams, phishing, identity theft or any other deceptive activity. Show a caller ID you aren’t entitled to use, or pretend to be a bank, government body, business or person.
Artificial traffic: Generate fake or artificially inflated traffic, including traffic pumping, international revenue share fraud (IRSF), Wangiri (one-ring) calls, or SIM-box or bypass traffic where it is illegal.
Misuse OTP numbers: Use our OTP numbers to get into or take over an account that isn’t yours, or for any other unlawful purpose.
Misuse number lookups: Use HLR or other number lookups for unlawful purposes. A lookup result is not consent to contact someone.
Abuse networks: Try to gain unauthorised access to any system, disrupt networks or services, or send malware.
Send harmful content: Send content that is unlawful, threatening or harassing, or that incites violence or discrimination.
Your responsibilities
Security: Use strong passwords and keep your login details, API keys and SIP credentials secure.
Reporting: Tell us immediately about any suspicious or prohibited use of your account.
Our Terms: Use the services in line with our Terms of Service.
Resellers: Make sure your customers follow this AUP, and help us investigate misuse.
Vendors: Vendors must make sure their routes comply with telecom regulations and don’t carry illegal traffic.
Enforcement
We may investigate suspected breaches of this AUP and ask you for information, such as proof that you may use a caller ID or that recipients agreed to your campaign. To stop misuse we may block numbers or destinations, limit features or routes, or suspend or close your account. We may act straight away when we need to prevent harm. Where the law allows, we tell you why and how to restore the service, and you can ask us to review our decision. We may share relevant information with carriers, suppliers or authorities when the law allows or requires it.
Liability
You are responsible for all traffic and activity from your account. If you break this AUP, you must cover the costs it causes us, including charges and fines from carriers and suppliers for fraudulent or prohibited traffic, and we may deduct them from your balance. For consumers, this is limited to losses caused by your breach.
Reporting abuse
Report misuse of Bitcall services to [email protected] with the number, the date and time, and a short description.
Changes
We may update this AUP. We publish the new version with its date and email you about important changes.
